Ely Buendia’s second solo album Method Adaptor is getting a bold transformation. Released on April 30 via Offshore Music, Method Adaptor Remixed takes every track from the 2024 original and reshapes it with fresh energy, thanks to a diverse lineup of Filipino electronic producers.

Instead of a few club edits, this is a complete rework — turning Buendia’s rock-driven album into a genre-blending journey. From pulsing budots beats to dreamy synth-pop and ambient textures, the remix album offers a new perspective on Buendia’s songwriting.

The remix album features nine tracks reimagined by a mix of seasoned and emerging producers:

  1. Faithful Song” – atmorae-SynthNoYume Remix
  2. Kandarapa” – lipsum Remix
  3. Bulaklak Sa Buwan” – DJ Love Remix
  4. Tamang Hinala” – D Waviee Remix
  5. Deadbeat Creeper” – LOVOL Remix
  6. Sige” – Diego Mapa Remix
  7. Tagpi-Tagping Piraso” – Squid 9 Remix
  8. Chance Passenger” – dani Remix
  9. Espirit de Corpse” – PYR0CL4ST Remix

Leading the charge is DJ Love, who flips the epic “Bulaklak sa Buwan” into a hypnotic, rhythm-heavy track. Squid 9 — the electronic alias of Buendia’s former Eraserheads bandmate Raimund Marasigan — reinvents “Tagpi Tagping Piraso” with icy synths and stripped-down textures. Diego Mapa (Pedicab, Tarsius) and Cebu’s Mandaue Nights also bring their signature sounds into the mix.

Originally released in November 2024, Method Adaptor was praised for its return to Buendia’s signature narrative style and raw rock sound. This remix version flips that formula, opening his music to new interpretations and proving its adaptability across genres.

In an interview with Billboard Philippines, Buendia reflected on his creative approach: “Post-E-heads, there was this realization that I had to set parameters which allowed me to be creative. I guess that is something that continues with this solo album because I had to set certain parameters so that I could write the songs.

With Method Adaptor Remixed, Buendia shows that boundaries can be both creative tools and launchpads for reinvention.
