The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) are expanding the celebration of contemporary Filipino art through the 2024 Thirteen Artists Awards (TAA) Exhibition’s Public Programs, following the awarding ceremony on October 6, 2025, and the official opening of the exhibition on October 7, 2025, at the National Museum of Fine Arts.
In line with Museums and Galleries Month, the initiative features a dynamic series of artist talks and a curator-led exhibition tour, inviting the public to connect with this year’s TAA awardees and curator while gaining deeper insight into their creative processes and artistic perspectives.

The artist talks began on October 11, 2025, with “Bodies, Myths, and Intimacies,” moderated by Rica Estrada Uson, officer-in-charge of the CCP Visual Arts and Museum Division. The discussion featured Catalina Africa, Russ Ligtas, Joshua Serafin, and Jel Suarez at the Osmeña Hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts.
The next session, “Identity, Memory, and Postcolonial Thought,” takes place on November 8, moderated by Mervy Pueblo, curator of the 2024 TAA Exhibition, with Denver Garza, Henrielle Baltazar Pagkaliwangan, and Liv Vinluan. On November 22, the talk “Materials in Flux: Process, Form, and Movement” will follow, featuring Tekla Tamoria, Vien Valencia, and Luis Antonio Santos, also moderated by Pueblo. The series wraps up on December 6 with “Advocacy, Environment, and Collective Survival,” featuring Ella Mendoza, Issay Rodriguez, and Derek Tumala.
Complementing the talks is a curator’s tour on October 21, 2025, led by Pueblo, offering an in-depth look at the exhibit’s curatorial framework, central themes, and the shared narrative uniting the works of the thirteen awardees.
All public programs are free, but seating is limited—50 participants per artist talk and 30 for the curator’s tour. Interested attendees can register at bit.ly/TAA2024PublicPrograms.
The 2024 TAA Exhibition runs until January 12, 2025, at the National Museum of Fine Arts, and is open to the public free of charge.
