Comedian Kathleen Madigan returns to the stage with a brand-new stand-up special, Kathleen Madigan: The Family Thread, premiering November 21, 2025, on Prime Video.
Known for her sharp observations and quick wit, Madigan takes on everything from gambling and Midwest pioneers to her four cats and aging parents. She also weighs in on the competition between modern churches, all delivered in her trademark style — smart, relatable, and effortlessly funny.

“She’s the fun lady at the end of the bar with a lot of opinions and only half of the information,” the special’s description reads.
The Family Thread is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and 1904, Inc. Executive producers include Kathleen Madigan, John Irwin, and Jodi Urness.
This marks Madigan’s seventh stand-up special. Her 2023 release, Hunting Bigfoot, also on Prime Video, was voted Comedy Special of the Year by The Interrobang. Before that, her Netflix special Bothering Jesus became the highest-selling and most-streamed comedy album since 2015.
With more than 40 appearances on late-night and daytime talk shows, Madigan has been a constant presence in comedy for decades. She’s appeared on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee with Jerry Seinfeld and has specials featured on platforms including Amazon, Netflix, Max, Showtime, and Comedy Central.
In 2020, during the pandemic, Madigan launched Madigan’s Pubcast, a podcast that has since garnered over 10 million streams and more than 200 episodes. Topics range from pop culture to conspiracy theories, delivered with the same no-nonsense humor that defines her stage act.
