Anne Curtis makes her much-awaited return to teleserye acting through ABS-CBN’s upcoming adaptation of the hit Korean drama It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. This marks her first drama series in 10 years.
Produced by Star Creatives, the series also stars Joshua Garcia and Carlo Aquino. It tells the story of an author with severe antisocial tendencies [who] learns to confront her deep emotional wounds when she meets a stranger who challenges her cold façade.”

Though Anne has continued hosting on TV, she admits returning to acting came with a mix of nerves and excitement. “Ang tagal ko nang hindi umarte so there is a lot of jitters lalo na sa first day, but I was supported by amazing actors guided by our team captain Direk Mae,” she said.
Directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, the series took nearly a year to film. “Whirlwind of emotions, nervous but everything ended with a smile and we are so proud to see everything that we worked hard for,” Anne shared.
Curtis assured fans that while the storyline remains faithful to the original, it has been adapted with a Filipino touch. “You will still get the same story, but we have given it a Filipino taste. We have added some new characters to make it our own. It’s a healing story. It’s a beautiful journey of love… every Filipino… will be able to relate to the story of healing, pain and love.”
Creative Director Henry King Quitain added, “It’s a story about two brothers who have a painful past. And a woman entering their lives who has emotional baggage of her own… healing begins when you are no longer alone.”
Joining the cast are Enchong Dee, Xyriel Manabat, Kaori Oinuma, Francis Magundayao, Agot Isidro, Maricel Laxa, Ana Abad Santos, Rio Locsin, Edgar Mortiz, Michael De Mesa, Bodjie Pascua, Empress Schuck, Geoff Eigenmann, Alora Sasam, and Bianca De Vera.
It’s Okay to Not Be Okay premieres on Netflix on July 18, iWantTFC on July 19, and on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online LIVE (YouTube and Facebook), A2Z, and TV5 starting July 21.
