Masked country music star Orville Peck is stepping into the ring—literally. Known for his mysterious image and deep vocals, Peck will make his feature film acting debut in Legendary Entertainment’s live-action Street Fighter movie.
Peck joins an already star-studded cast that includes Andrew Koji, Jason Momoa, Noah Centineo, and Roman Reigns. This marks a major career move for the South African-born musician, who’s best known for his albums Pony (2019), Show Pony (2020), Bronco (2022), and Stampede (2024).

Details about the plot are still under wraps, but fans can expect plenty of action. Based on the iconic video game franchise that began in 1987, Street Fighter centers around fierce one-on-one martial arts battles and a global fighting tournament led by the villainous M. Bison. The game series has sold over 55 million copies worldwide.
The film is being directed by Bad Trip’s Kitao Sakurai, taking over from Danny and Michael Philippou. Capcom, the original game developer, is co-developing and co-producing the movie. No writers or producers have been officially announced yet.
Peck is represented by Paradigm, Activist, and Wasserman Music. As Deadline.com first reported, Legendary has not commented on the casting.
