Lady Gaga is stepping into the twisted world of Wednesday, and fans are already buzzing. The global superstar will appear in Part 2 of the Netflix series’ second season, premiering September 3, as Rosaline Rotwood — a legendary and mysterious teacher at Nevermore Academy who crosses paths with Wednesday Addams.

The casting was revealed at Netflix’s Tudum 2025 live event, where Gaga surprised the crowd with a show-stopping medley of “Zombieboy,” “Bloody Mary,” and “Abracadabra.” Her dramatic appearance closed out the night and confirmed what fans have long hoped for — a full-circle moment between Gaga and the Wednesday universe.

Her connection to the series began in Season 1, when a dance scene featuring Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams went viral online, especially after it was remixed to Gaga’s 2011 track “Bloody Mary.” The song surged in popularity, with Gaga herself joining in on the trend and performing the now-iconic “Bloody Wednesday” dance on TikTok. That viral moment laid the groundwork for a collaboration fans never saw coming — until now.

Season 2 of Wednesday is split into two parts, with Part 1 arriving August 6 and Gaga’s appearance in Part 2 on September 3. According to showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, this season will take a darker turn: “This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries.”

Alongside Gaga, familiar characters return, including Morticia, Gomez, and Pugsley Addams, who all play bigger roles this time. Joining her Mother Monster are Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah B. Taylor. The season will also feature guest appearances from Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo. The season premiere’s first six minutes, revealed at Tudum, already tease a shift in tone, new dangers, and Wednesday at her most intense.

But it’s Lady Gaga’s arrival as Rosaline Rotwood that’s guaranteed to steal attention. A mysterious figure with secrets of her own, Rotwood is expected to challenge Wednesday in ways no one else has.
